  • I’ve been coming to Inward Bound for 10 yrs now! I’ve worked with a few different Pilates teachers and they have all been amazing, each one giving me more information about my own body and new exercises! I’m getting older but my body’s not!

    Patricia Walberg

  • I couldn’t be happier with my experience at Inward Bound these last few months. The atmosphere is so friendly and inviting. Both the teachers and the other students have been so welcoming! I can’t seem to make myself exercise on my own, but I also am averse to new groups. I already feel like I know everyone. And the teaching has been superb.

    Mindy Jenkins

  • After I finished physical therapy for my hip surgery I was so nervous. I didn’t feel ready to workout on my own. The instruction I have received her e has been on par with my physical therapy. I have been amazed! I started with private lessons and am now taking small group, semi private classes. I am so much stronger and have so much self confidence!

    Marlowe Bigsby

  • I am a 14 yr old volleyball player. I’ve been coming for 6 months with my friends to do Pilates. My shoulder injury has gotten much better. I’m also learning lots about my body and how to use my core when I’m playing volleyball. Also, my posture is improving.

    Maddie Dominguez

  • I’ve been doing the Gyrotonic Method for years before moving here. I’ve worked with many teachers. Celina’s wisdom and creativity is mind blowing to me. She ALWAYS comes up with something new for me to learn! She’s also amazingly flexible and intuitive with me when I come in with a body tweak (which is a lot!). She can make a whole lesson about rehabbing a certain part of my body, or she can teach a whole lesson without using another part. I feel like I can come to her no matter what state I’m in and get something out of my lesson.

  • Arianna is an incredible pilates instructor! Her attention to detail and ability to correct form is super helpful. She has helped me gain back confidence and muscle after having two babies. Highly recommend!

    Melanie Calahan

  • I was calm and reassured by her (Jenna’s) beautiful heart and professional style. I had shifts on the body, mental and emotional level. I felt I had lost 1000 lbs off my back and shoulders. Proud to then experience the peace of mind and lack of mind chatter continue throughout the next weeks. Emotionally I had releases in class and then had spaciousness continue without end. For me these are profound outcomes. I loved her ease & clarity as a leader. She created safety and fun in the group and coached us through each step. I actually had fun and met new people. Deeply grateful!

  • Experiencing Anya’s Kobido massage was truly something beyond words. It’s so much more than a body therapy — it feels like a journey that touches both body and soul. Anya’s hands seem to listen, intuitively finding what needs care, release, or stillness. Every movement feels intentional and deeply personal, as if the massage is uniquely tailored in the moment. The result is not just physical relaxation, but a beautiful sense of balance and emotional renewal. I’m grateful for finding a space where healing and artistry meet — a truly one-of-a-kind experience.

  • The massage was incredible. Michelle helped alleviate a lot of tension I was carrying in my back, and helped me with chronic migraines. She held a very calming and communicative space, and the session helped me immensely. Will definitely be back!

  • I began taking classes at Inward Bound in 2022, at age 67, and it’s been transformative. Through Emily and Arianna’s skill and support, I’ve gained strength, balance, and a renewed ease in my body, along with a deeper confidence in how I navigate the world-inside and out…

  • I appreciate Melanie's skills as a yoga teacher. She creates an environment of loving support while still challenging us to do a little better. I feel I always know what to do, and never have to ask myself ‘am I doing this right?’ She always has a plan B, and C if I can’t do a pose. Her voice is pleasing and easy to follow, instructions are clear and commentary never feels trite or too new-agey.

    Bruce Newman (Lama Bruce)

  • I appreciate that Cheri encourages students to practice in a way that is accessible to them. " - Beth, Talent, OR “Cheri is a fantastic teacher. She has been important to my recovery.” - Ron, Ashland, OR "Cheri's Yin Yoga class is my happy hour!" - Melissa, Ashland, OR "I always feel welcome! This yoga class is the best way to start my week!

    Diane, Ashland

  • From participating in Melanie's Kayut style yoga classes it's clear that Melanie has a deep knowledge of the workings of the human body, Her classes focus on core fascia and foundational muscle groups of the body. Whereas in the last couple of years I’ve had to be very careful and limit my involvement with yoga classes, in Melanie’s class I can fully commit without fear of injury. The classes have helped me regain strength and flexibility.

    Jonathan Pope

  • I am 69 years old and have been taking Pilates with Emily Warren for the past several years. I have found her to be a wonderful instructor with a positive and caring attitude towards students of all ages. I couldn't be more pleased with my ongoing association with Emily and Inward Bound!

Welcome to Inward Bound!

We are a studio of experienced practitioners, who share a common interest. The methodologies and classes taught at Inward Bound are all taught from the perspective of the “inside out model”.

We believe that unless the nervous system is regulated, neither movement nor exercise can be truly healing. Even more than that, we believe that  true strength found in the subtle movement arts we teach is profound.
