About Us
Therapeutic Exercise & Bodywork begins from within.Therapeutic Exercise is more than getting our heart rates up, toning our muscles and gaining flexibility. It's about moving wisely, from our centers, with a regulated nervous system. This not only unleashes the body's healing capacity but our true strength.
Inward Bound is a therapeutic exercise studio in Ashland, Oregon dedicated to teaching movement arts for the purpose of healing, rejuvenation, and connection to one's own body. We're committed to creating a playful yet purposeful environment for our clients and staff.

Meet our experienced practitioners, each devoted to guiding you toward greater ease, strength, and self-awareness through mindful movement.

Book a class
Welcome to Inward Bound!
We are a studio of experienced practitioners, who share a common interest. The methodologies and classes taught at Inward Bound are all taught from the perspective of the “inside out model”.
We believe that unless the nervous system is regulated, neither movement nor exercise can be truly healing. Even more than that, we believe that true strength found in the subtle movement arts we teach is profound.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Anything moveable is fine. It doesn’t need to be tight for us to see your body. Bear feet or sticky socks are ideal. We sell sticky socks here.
-
Though socks are not required, grippy socks are a great idea. We also have some for sale. A water bottle is also a good idea. We have filtered water here. For yoga classes, you may want to bring a yoga mat and a towel, though we do have yoga mats here, as well as yoga props.
-
Sessions that are great for beginners: private sessions are always the best to begin with if you’re unsure of your ability or recently recovering from injury.
Private sessions allow our instructors to learn your body and they also allow you to learn our language. Some people opt to stick with private sessions and others use them to catapult them into class with a deeper understanding of the things they need to think about in their body.
On our schedule page, if you click on any class, a class description will pop up. These class descriptions will also tell you if a class is good for beginners.
During class: specific modifications and props will be offered by the teacher if this makes you more comfortable and helps your body to execute the exercises.
Lastly, feel free to contact Inward Bound or any specific instructor and share any concerns or hesitations you might have about coming to class. They’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have!
