Gyrotonic Method®

The Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis Methods® are wholistic forms of exercise that open energy pathways, stimulate the nervous system, increase range of motion, and improve strength and movement efficiency. The system emphasizes decompression through natural ranges of motion, using resistance to create balance, efficiency, strength and flexibility.
The Gyrotonic Method utilizes specialized equipment to guide, assist, and challenge the exerciser. People from all walks of life take Gyrotonic classes, including fitness enthusiasts, senior citizens, accomplished athletes, and people recovering from an injury or dealing with a disability. Gyrotonic exercises help athletes improve their performance, and rehabilitation clients recover more quickly and fully post injury.
The Gyrokinesis Method is practiced on a mat and chair, without equipment. Without the feedback and guidance of equipment, participants in a Gyrokinesis class are more dependent on their own proprioception to explore movement sequences.
We offer private Gyrotonic and semi private Gyrokinesis classes.

Private sessions are $85-95/hr

Pilates

Pilates is a method of therapeutic exercise created by Joseph Pilates, a German born physical therapy pioneer, who opened his studio in New York City in 1926. Using equipment specially designed to activate the right muscles, the method works by creating a balance of strength and flexibility, increased body awareness, fluidity and precise coordination
The core strength Pilates develops lifts weight out of our joints to counter the effects of gravity. The combination of strength and flexibility generate a strong but supple body that is balanced and coordinated.
Mat Pilates, a portion of the Pilates matrix, brings strength to your back and abdominal muscles while adding resilience to the entire body. The classical Pilates machines were created not only for extra resistance and stretch, but also to help put the body into positions it normally wouldn't be able to achieve on its own.
We offer private and semi-private instruction on the equipment, using small props and on the mat. The smaller the group setting you choose to participate in, the more easily we can design a specific program for your individual needs.

Aerial Yoga

Aerial Yoga addresses different systems of the body. We hang very close to the floor, and the yoga swing suspends us in dynamic flow. The unique, floating positions, upside down work and compression from the fabric of the swing are regenerative and detoxifying for the endocrine, vestibular, digestive, lymphatic and circulatory systems. The swing is able to decompress the skeletal system while strengthening the intrinsic muscles that run deep, along the spine, to support it. It also helps to hydrate the fascia.
We offer privates and semi private aerial yoga classes.
